November 2007. Norfolk NMP.
A surviving World War Two Type 22 pillbox is visible on aerial photographs (S2-S5). The earliest available aerial photographs showing this pillbox date from 1945 (S2) but it is likely that it was constructed around 1940. The pillbox is located at a road junction close to a railway bridge. It is possible that it was associated with an anti-aircraft gun or searchlight battery which was located immediately to the west of the railway line (NHER 33782).
J. Albone (NMP), 15 November 2007.
