Full description

'Near the local water mill many years' before 1946.From handwritten note in (S1) by R.R. Clarke (NCM), who goes on to describe a lower stone of conglomerate or puddingstone quern, 28cm (11 inches) across, 10cm (4 inches) thick, central hole 3.8cm (1 1/2 inches) across.
No water mill in Booton now; perhaps once near Beck Cottages? No trace of a water mill at Beck Cottages, and 1883 OS 6 inch map does not mark any mill in area!
[1] notes a wind mill at site 21695 in Booton but says no water mill there since medieval times.
