Summary

Fieldwalking in this area has recovered an extremely large number of Neolithic flint tools. Metal detecting from 2004 to 2005 has also recovered some medieval and post medieval coins and metal objects.

Full description

1977. [1]
On ploughed surface. Scatter of worked flint flakes.

Pre June 1986. Further fieldwalking, finder's site A.
One bifacially worked roughout for a large leaf arrowhead or small leaf point.
Eight scrapers, eight flakes with various retouch, six cores.
Sixty-nine flakes, ten blades.
All Neolithic.
Identified by J.J. Wymer (NAU), June 1986.

October - November 2004. Metal-detecting. Site extended to whole field. [2]
1 Roman coin.
5 medieval coins and 1 pottery sherd (unglazed).
2 ?medieval lead pot mends.
10 post-medieval coins, 6 jettons, 8 tokens, 1 coin weight (2 pennyweight), 1 lead seal, 5 trade weights (3; 1/4oz, 2; 2oz, one has a crown emblem dating to either Charles I or Charles II, 4 lead, 1 copper alloy), 6 lead cloth seals (inc one with the coat of arms of the commonwealth), 1 lead ?cloth seal, 1 lead powder charge cap or measure, 16 lead musket balls and12 lead weights.
1 ?post-medieval ?staple.
