Full description

1964. While digging a trench for sewer pipe. 12m (40ft) approximately from Norton Beck, 60cm (2ft) below top of peat. Possibly associated with non-human bone: deer?
Iron spearhead found 3m (10ft) down in (loose) peat. Probably late medieval hunting spear - see (S1) pl.XVI.8.
Composed of 2 sheets of iron moulded/welded together.
On loan to NCM.
