Record Details

NHER Number:10528
Type of record:Monument
Name:Post medieval beacon stance and Roman coin hoard

Summary

A mound was visible under crop here in 1978, and while this could be a Bronze Age barrow it is more likely to be a post medieval beacon stance. Additionally, extensive metal detecting from 1982-5 has recovered a number of Roman coins (possibly part of a hoard) and a brooch.
