Record Details

NHER Number:10101
Type of record:Monument
Name:Medieval moated site/manor, Old Hall Meadow

Summary

A moated site is visible on aerial photographs of this area. This feature seems likely to be a medieval moated house, and the name of the field suggests it may once have been a manor house. Metal detecting and trenching here found medieval coins, pottery sherds, brick and tile fragments as well as animal bones. No medieval structures were found although a prehistoric pot boiler site was identified.
