The site of a type 22 World War Two pillbox is visible on aerial photographs located on an area of higher ground to the south of Stoke Road, Poringland (S2). The pillbox is centred on TG 2620 0262. The aerial photographs have revealed the former presence of another type 22 pillbox 150m to the east (NHER 52471), which would have protected the southern approach to the radar station and also the searchlight emplacement to the immediate south (NHER 34192).
